Welcome to the Immaculate
Heart Community of California.
Leading with Heart
In recognition of the ongoing and inherent need for communities of spiritual growth as well as advocacy for justice, we invite you to explore further who we are. We seek to live grounded in a faith that recognizes and honors the dignity of each person and the sacredness of the whole of creation. It is our rootedness in, and commitment to, this transformative love that brings us together as a community and impels our work for justice, peace and the healing of the earth.
Our Goal Statement
We, the members of the Immaculate Heart Community, rooted in Jesus Christ and united with the people of God, commit ourselves to build relations in society which foster access of all persons to truth, dignity, and full human development, and to strategically change practices and situations which impede such access. With reverence for all creation, in our choice of work and living style, and in our use of time, talent and money, we hold ourselves accountable to God and one another for effecting this goal and supporting one another in this effort.

Update on Members
Formerly at Kenmore Residence
Our beloved founding members who were living at the Immaculate Heart Community Residence at Kenmore have moved to St. John of God and Kingsley Manor retirement communities. Each site offers attractive grounds, a chapel for worship, new friends, and varied activities. They look forward to sharing the IHC spirit with new neighbors and welcoming visitors in the post-COVID future.
IHC Statement on Anti-
Racism as Spiritual Transformation
Our nation is at a crossroads, and we are called to an awakening – a metanoia and spiritual transformation. We can either meet the vision of the Beloved Community where the long arc of the Universe at last bends towards justice or we can remain in our current downward spiral of disrespect, inequality and injustice towards persons who are not “white.” As an ecumenical community, we are Christian followers of Jesus, whom we hold to be a model of compassion and inclusionary love,* and we see this moment as one in which we must work to embody that Inclusionary Love.

Be part of our Community’s journey.
Your generous gift allows the Immaculate Heart Community to continue onward in Faith, Hope, and Action as we work toward peace and justice for all peoples, through a dedicated focus on the arts, women, immigration, and the environment.
